Legal & General Release 2022 Claims Figures

Legal and General today released their pay-out levels for 2022. A total of £883 million was paid out to 17,768 customers across Life, Critical Illness & Income Protection policies making this a record year for claims (up over £85 million from 2021).

The leading causes for Life Insurance Claims were Cancer, Heart & Neurological conditions. Covid meanwhile has dropped down the list of claim causes to number 6 (down from number 3).

They also released information confirming the average age for someone claiming on Income protection was 39. This brings home the importance of this type of protection plan.
